Irina Munteanu is a photographer and writer based in Berlin. Her work explores the unnoticed, traces left behind, moments on the verge of shifting into something else, fleeting encounters, temporary shelters and mid-thoughts. Her subjects often navigate dead ends, apparent impediments, contradictions, and the weight of no way out.

Ultimately, self-portraiture emerges as a way of documenting the self in transit: rooms inhabited, places that become part of an ever-growing archive of elsewhere.

Co-founded UNCERTAIN in 2017, a contemporary analog photography magazine.
Currently, one half of Atelier CAMUN, a framed found photography and original antique prints project.
